Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. Can I show Finger of God to my church, small group, youth group, etc…?
    A. Absolutely! It is very rare that this film is shown in public where God doesn’t show up and do some amazing things. So by all means, show the film to as many people as you would like, but you might want to make sure you leave some time in the end for prayer. All we ask is that you let us know if God does something awesome in your midst afterwards. We love to hear the stories of God’s goodness.
  • Q. Can I burn copies for my friends?
    A. This is a difficult question for us, because Finger was made with a lot of sweat and effort, and we are using money made from the sales to help pay for more movies. Also, it should be noted that Finger of God is protected by copyright, so it is illegal to make copies to distribute to others.
  • Q. Do you realize some people have your movie in its entirety up on the internet?
    A. We are aware of this, and although we don’t necessarily like it, there is very little we can do about it. The one good that comes from this, of course, is that some people will be able to see God’s goodness for themselves who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to see that.
  • Q. Can we donate money to your company?
    A. Of course you can! But please realize that we are not a non-profit organization, so your donation is not tax-decuctible. But if you are interested in helping us bring more movies like Finger of God to the masses, feel free to call Brittney at: 847-226-0602, or email her at contact@wanderlustproductions.net.
  • Q. Is Darren Wilson available to speak at my church/conference?
    A. He is, up to a point. Please understand that Darren is still a full-time professor at Judson University, and he is also in the process of filming his next feature, Furious Love. So while his schedule is fairly tight, he is open to speaking as long as it fits his schedule. Please call his assistant, Brittney, at 847-226-0602 to inquire.
  • Q. What is the Deluxe Edition and how is it different from the standard version of the film?
    A. The Deluxe Edition is for anyone who wants more of what they saw in Finger of God. While the standard version of the film includes the film (obviously) and the director’s commentary, the Deluxe Edition includes both of those things as well as another 4 DVDs of extra footage, interviews, teachings and insights. The 5 DVD set is packaged as such:

    • DVD 1 – Finger of God film with director’s commentary
    • DVD 2 – over 2 hours of miracle stories from around the world
    • DVD 3 – nearly 2 hours of people like Bill Johnson, Heidi Baker, Dennis Balcombe, and the entire cast of Finger of God discussing various issues regarding the theology of what is in the film, answering the skeptics, etc…
    • DVD 4 – over 75 minutes of extra footage shot on the streets with Jason Westerfield, Heidi Baker, Georgeian Banov and the Gypsies, and more!
    • DVD 5 – Nearly 4 hours of extra stuff that has no real category, but was so good we had to include it. Included: the full story of Heidi Baker and how God brought about the amazing work in her and in Mozambique; Ian Andrews giving an incredibly easy-to-understand teaching on words of knowledge; and much, much more!

While filming Finger of God over a two year period, Darren was obviously able to see and hear some amazing things that simply didn’t make it into the final cut. We have tried to put together the best of what Darren was able to film for this collection, and we’re very excited to finally be able to share it with you all. If you liked the movie, then you’re absolutely going to LOVE this edition of the film
  • Q. Do you have a prayer line?
    A. Unfortunately, no.  We are a production company, not a ministry organization.  We encourage everyone who needs prayer to visit their local church.  God loves all of His kids, not just the ones who believe in healing!  We have heard many stories of God healing people (both physically and emotionally) through people who don’t even believe in it.  God is much bigger than our unbelief.
  • Q. Where is Wanderlust Productions located?
    A. Short answer: we are located about 30 miles west of Chicago. Longer answer: we are currently working on obtaining a dedicated studio in the area. When we have a more permanent address, we’ll let you know.
  • Q. Are you a religious organization?
    A. No. We are a production company. It just so happens that we make films about God.
  • Q. How can I get in touch with someone I saw in the video?
    A. You will have to go through the normal route of their ministry. We take our friendship with everyone we work with very seriously, and we will never give out personal contact information for anyone featured in our films. We are happy to provide you with the names of their organizations so that you can find out more about them.

  • Q. I love the music in the film, where can I get it?
    A. Most of the music is from Georgian Banov’s CD, Caravan: A Journey to Another Place. You can get it at Georgian’s website: www.riverlution.net. The last song on the film is by Benn Dunn, from his CD, Under the Influence. You can get it at his My Space site.
  • Q. Are you a Christian company?
    A. Well, we’re Christians, and we have a company…
  • Q. Why didn’t you verify the miracles in your film?
    A. This question always interests me. There were some times, like in Mozambique, when an entire village “verifying” that the person was deaf was pretty much enough for me. After all, why would they lie to perfect strangers? The more practical answer, though, lies in the understanding that I made this entire film by myself, with little to no money.  I basically had enough money to get somewhere and get a cheap hotel room.  I didn’t have the luxury of follow up interviews, figuring out where local hospitals were, getting translators to talk to the doctors, etc…  Sometimes, I just had a few minutes with someone, as was the case with Francis (the dead guy).  So quite often, I simply didn’t have the ability to do so.  I had to take their word for it, and I only included people in my film who I honestly believed.  I talked to some who I didn’t believe.  God gave us discernment for a reason!  The truth is, I have no problem with people wrestling with this stuff—I did. There have been many people who have documented these things, but I have found that for the truly skeptical (and by that I mean, people who come into this debate with hostile preconceptions), no amount of “documentation” is going to be enough. If this is real, it changes everything, and many people don’t want everything to change in their lives, so they put up walls in the guise of “healthy skepticism”.  I did.  Unfortunately, the only instance of skepticism accounted in the Bible (Thomas) wasn’t deemed very “healthy” by Jesus. Are there wolves in sheep’s clothing? Of course. But there are also many, many sheep in God’s clothing.  There is a difference between skepticism and discernment.
  • Q. Can a miracle really be taped?
    A. Sure. If God wants it to be taped. When we go out to film, He’s the one in charge, not us.
  • Q. How can I get involved at Wanderlust? Are you hiring or accepting internships?
    A. At the moment, we are such a small company that we have no ability to hire new full-time employees. As far as internships go, Darren prefers to give those to students who attend Judson University (where he teaches).
  • Q. I’m concerned about the Chinese Christians in the film. Aren’t you putting them in danger by showing their faces?
    A. The footage from the underground churches came from Dennis Balcombe, who had culled the footage over 40 years of ministry there. So those images are taken from many, many years, and it is a safe bet that those Christians have moved in the time between. Dennis is with these people on a day-to-day basis, and he would know better than anyone if giving me the footage would put anyone in danger. He had no qualms with it, and neither do we.
  • Q. When is your next film coming out?
    A. We are shooting for a late 2009 release, but it could bleed over to early 2010. We just want to make sure we get it right. One thing I can promise you: it’s going to be incredible.
  • Q. Can I get the movie in my local Christian bookstore?
    A. You can now. We have recently teamed up with a national distributor, so all you need to do is request the video at your local store and they should be able to order it.
  • Q. Who did your design work for Finger of God?
    A. A company called Paper Tower. You can check them out at: www.papertower.com.
